Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) 

THIS IS A PROJECT BASED OPPURTUNITY (4-6MTH DURATION)

BlueTeam is a U.S. based service provider specializing in remediation, reconstruction, and roofing services on a national basis for commercial properties. BlueTeam's core business is providing cleanup and mitigation work for problems such as fire damage, roof leaks, pipe bursts, mold, aging system failures, and, of course, post-disaster remediation resulting from severe weather. The company strictly services commercial industry sectors such as hospitality, senior housing, health care, commercial offices, municipalities, multifamily living, and institutional markets.

The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) will operate primarily at one of three properties in the Tampa area and will be expected to work closely with subcontractors, superintendents, and safety officials to identify hazards, conduct inspections, and lead safety initiatives. Individuals should anticipate occasional travel to the other properties in the vicinity to assist with surges in workload or to temporarily fill in for others. This is a junior- to mid-level position with strong potential for long-term retention

What you’ll do.....

  • Enforce compliance with company safety policies and all applicable OSHA regulations 
  • Conduct daily jobsite inspections across multiple work types: construction, roofing, and restoration  
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site-specific training for field personnel 
  • Investigate and document incidents, near-misses, and safety violations; recommend and track corrective actions 
  • Maintain organized safety documentation, including reports, logs, inspection records, and compliance materials 
  • Ensure consistent and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety signage 
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact during audits or visits from safety regulators 
  • Partner with project managers, field supervisors, and safety leadership to support safe project execution 
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required

What you’ll need...

  • Qualifications
    • 3+ years of field safety experience in the construction - Experience in roofing, or restoration industries preferred.
    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (minimum) 
    • Demonstrated knowledge of hazard communication, fall protection, confined space, and other key safety topics 
    • Experience conducting safety inspections and leading safety-related training 
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with field teams and leadership 
    • Capable of frequent travel between multiple local job site
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital safety reporting tools 
    • CPR/First Aid Certification - Preferred 
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field  
    • OSHA 500 or 510
    • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish, in addition to English, is preferred to support effective communication with diverse subcontractor and labor crews on multilingual job sites
