BlueTeam is a U.S. based service provider specializing in remediation, reconstruction, and roofing services on a national basis for commercial properties. BlueTeam's core business is providing cleanup and mitigation work for problems such as fire damage, roof leaks, pipe bursts, mold, aging system failures, and, of course, post-disaster remediation resulting from severe weather. The company strictly services commercial industry sectors such as hospitality, senior housing, health care, commercial offices, municipalities, multifamily living, and institutional markets.
The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is a field-based role responsible for overseeing and enforcing quality standards across construction, roofing, and restoration work performed by BlueTeam as well as BlueTeam’s subcontractors, vendors, and consultants. This position is critical in ensuring that project deliverables meet contractual obligations, regulatory codes, and company expectations for quality.
The QCM will operate primarily across three properties in the vicinity of Tampa, FL and must be comfortable traveling between sites frequently. The ideal candidate has hands-on construction experience, strong documentation practices, and a passion for jobsite compliance and workmanship excellence.
What you’ll do....
- Quality Oversight & Compliance
- Implement a site-specific Quality Control Plan tailored to each project.
- Conduct inspections at all project phases: preparatory, initial, follow-up, and final.
- Ensure that all materials, methods, and workmanship meet specifications and approved submittals.
- Maintain daily logs of quality inspections, test results, and non-compliance issues.
- Coordination & Documentation
- Facilitate and document preparatory meetings with project teams and subcontractors.
- Lead quality discussions and coordinate corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain organized photo documentation, as-built drawings, and quality reports.
- Collaborate closely with Safety Officers and Site Superintendents on jobsite conditions.
- Issue Resolution & Improvement
- Identify defective or substandard materials or installations and escalate issues promptly.
- Recommend process improvements and revised quality control practices when appropriate.
- Monitor recurring deficiencies and support project teams in continuous improvement.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required
What you’ll need...
- Qualifications
- 1-5 years of experience in quality control or field inspection within the construction industry
- Experience working with or for a general contractor (not owner-side or third-party inspector)
- Competent in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
- OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days of beginning employment)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and field-reporting tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to document and present findings clearly
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between project sites daily
- Fluency in written and spoken English required to ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and coordination with internal teams and subcontractors
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required; relevant experience may substitute)
- Certified Construction Quality Manager (CQM) designation
- Previous experience in roofing, restoration, and vertical/horizontal construction projects
- Familiarity with government or institutional project quality standards
- Fluency in written and spoken Spanish, in addition to English, is preferred to support effective communication with diverse subcontractor and labor crews on multilingual job sites
